SUNDAY 31st January 2016 Help needed Make a difference with young people at Chapel Allerton Youth Project We have two fantastic evening groups for young people locally, which we're looking for help with: - Totally Tuesday meets from 6:30-8pm on a Tuesday and is made up of a great group of 9-12 year olds who are keen to engage and spend time together. We're looking for someone who is interested in getting alongside this group and showing an interest in who they are. - Our Cell Groups meet on a Wednesday from 7:30-9pm. We run three cells, which means that we're looking for some more people to join our already great team. If you're interested in getting to know young people and showing them that you care, then get in touch. Contact Hannah Dey (07930 330389 or hannah@chapela.org.uk) for more information. Training opportunities Safeguarding Training Thank you to all who attended the recent safeguarding training. For those who were unable to attend, the dates of the next available training sessions will be forwarded to you as soon as they are published. Parenting Teenagers! CAYP are running two Parenting Teenagers courses next year - the content for each night will be the same, so no need to book on for both. Here are the details: Thursday 4th February, 7pm for a 7:30-9pm session at Stainbeck URC Monday 8th February, 7pm for a 7:30-9pm session at St Matthew's church hall Please contact Hannah Dey (hannah.dey@chapela.org.uk) if you'd like to come along. Thank you! Help needed Today Rick Walker will be leading our worship. Following the break we will be continuing our mini-series on “Why we do some of the things we do, the way we do them.” Today Mike Flowers will be speaking on ‘Our Story ’. Welcome to Chapel A THIS COMING WEEK Tuesdays at 12.30pm from now on in the church office - a short prayer meeting with the staff and whoever would like to pray for Chapel A. Housegroups generally meet on Monday, Tuesday and alternate Thursday evenings. Please see notice board in corridor. Tuesdays - Totally Tuesday for Years 5-7, 6.30 - 8pm in Chapel All. Methodist Hall. Wednesday – WOW youth group for Years 8+ in Chapel Allerton Methodist Hall. Please contact Hannah Dey on 0113 307 0251 or 07930 330389 about any of our usual groups for young people. CHAPEL A FRIDAY EVENING GATHERING Friday Night Gathering is an opportunity to spend some time learning to be in the presence of God and experiencing His power through worship, prayer and some teaching. The dates of the next three meetings are: 5/2/16, 4/3/16 and 1/4/16 at 7.45pm. The venue is Mark & Rachel Riches house and it would be wonderful to see as many of you as are able to make it. WYDAN Night Shelter St Matthew's is hosting the WYDAN (West Yorkshire Destitute Asylum Network) Night Shelter from Mon 29th Feb - Mon 7th March. They are putting together a rota of people to help. The greatest need is for men willing to stay overnight from 10pm-7am. They need folk for Tue, Wed, Fri and Sat nights. They may also need some volunteers for evening or morning shifts. If anyone is willing to be involved - either for the nights or for evening/mornings, or you require more information, please send an email to Gill Taylor at: gill.taylor656@ntlworld.com Send newsletter notices and news to office@chapela.org.uk or phone the church office on 0113 307 0251. Thursday is the cut-off for any notices for that Sunday’s news-sheet. Our new office address is First Floor, 182 Harrogate Rd, Chapel Allerton, Leeds LS7 4NZ. The ministers of the church are Simon Hall (0797 375 6440) and Robin Thomson (0798 035 6178).
