The 5 "W's" of evaluation who what when where why
Who created the website? Is there a name and email address?
What is the domain extension? Is it reliable?
When was the site last updated?
Where did they get their information? Do they reference sources?
Why? Why did they create the site? Are they trying to inform, persuade, or sell?
Also look at the number of advertisements on the site Websites with lots of ads are often unreliable
