UNITS of Study WW2 and the The Start of the Cold War The Post War Boom; Life in the 1950s JFK and LBJ; The New Frontier and the Great Society The Civil Rights Movement The Vietnam Years Era of Social Change and life during the 1960s 1970s Nixon, Carter administrations 1980s to Present Day; including The Reagan Years, End of the Cold War, the Tech Boom and 9/11.

Expectations: Good News! :In this course you will add to COPIUS notes!! We have lots of places to see and people to meet! Take it in as a long running story with lots of different “chapters” in our nation’s history. Try to imagine “living” in the times we study… You will be assessed through a quiz each week Get to take A test @every 2 weeks! But wait, there’s more! Small Research Papers, Opinion papers, Pros and Cons papers and various group projects await you….and if you are really lucky (good/well behaved)…maybe even a final FUN Project worth 2 Chunky Test grades!!!

Class Procedures At the start of each class there will be a warm-up journal topic or a warm up worksheet. These are to be completed quietly when directed. Middle portion will typically be a power-point presentation with various embedded activities and related video clips. Wrap-up portion of class shall include review activities and homework explanations ect.
