SUCCESSES 08-12 National 7th largest team sport; 1250+ affiliated teams; 115,000 weekly participation (APS); 187,000 monthly participation (APS); 35 County Leagues with 750 teams; 450 grassroots coaches with a disability formally supported. North West 300k+ revenue investment into region; Additional ‘core’ funding into CFA structures.

FA PHILOSOPHY The FA believes that appropriate competition should be made available to all people whatever their level of ability; The FA believes that disabled people should be playing in mainstream football competition however they realise that some disabled players may be better provided for in competitive football such as ‘pan disability’ or impairment-specific football on a temporary or permanent basis; The FA also aims to provide player development pathways to elite level for various impairments such as Blind and Cerebral Palsy and the resulting competitions needed to support the player’s development.

GRASSROOTS PRIORITIES 13-17 ‘Formalised structures – flexible participation’ Key ‘introductions’ – FE and HE and community; Key ‘introductions’ – school based CS Club Development – ‘inclusive clubs’; CS League Development – ‘sustainable leagues’; Working together – impairment specific divisions; Retain and grow – affiliated teams; Coach mentoring – supporting individuals.
