Student Nursing Organization SNO Student Nursing Organization

Purpose Bring nursing students together as a community Provide an opportunity for students to ask questions about the department, classes, and clinical experiences Encourage involvement in professional activities

Current Board President- Rebecca Pettis, Senior Vice President- Lauren Barker, Junior Treasurer- Sofia Carapeta, Senior Secretary- Julia doCurral, Senior Volunteer Coordinator- Brittany Wile, Junior Technology Coordinator- Mary Kate Visnic, Junior Freshman Liaison- Riley Kingsbury, Sophomore

Becoming a Board Member Elected position Biweekly meetings Planning events, fundraisers, connect students with faculty NSNA opportunity

President Run meetings Make sure that board members are doing their jobs Represent SNO at other meetings, conferences, ect. Overall: make sure that everything is running smoothly and that tasks are accomplished

Vice President Help the president run meetings/plan events Assume president position in the event that the president can no longer hold office Team player: All SNO board members work together as a team to make decisions!

Treasurer In charge of funds Prepare annual financial report Set up online-payment methods for fundraisers/sales Help make financial decisions in regards to the group

Secretary Take and review meeting minutes Schedule meeting times and locations Event planning

Volunteer Coordinator Promote fundraising and plan events to promote SNO and its purpose Initiate volunteer and community service opportunities for SNO members to participate it Ex. Relay for Life team

Technology Coordinator Manage blackboard site and Wildcat link Post information for members to view Manage member roster

Freshman Liaison Act as facilitator between freshman class and SNO Provide guidance and assistance in regards to the needs of the freshman class Create class Facebook page

SNO Board Elections Submit blurb about yourself by Fridayy October 9th at 5 p.m. Elections open Monday, October 12th Voting closes Friday, October 16th at 5:00 p.m.
