Careful when stepping out from between parked cars! The BIG 3 Rules of the Road LOOK – left, right & left AGAIN! LISTEN Careful when stepping out from between parked cars! TAKE OFF THOSE HEADPHONES! YOU CAN’T HEAR WHAT’S HAPPENING AROUND YOU!

USE Crosswalks when available. Drivers EXPECT to see you there! CROSSWALK SIGNALS Start walking when you see the “man” walking on the sign. NEVER RUN – you could trip & fall! WALK YOUR BIKE in the crosswalk too! STOP WALK USE Crosswalks when available. Drivers EXPECT to see you there! If the red hand starts flashing while you are in the crosswalk…don’t worry…just keep walking at a normal pace! DON’T RUN! You have plenty of time!

THIS COULD GET CONFUSING… When you are riding your BIKE…you should always ride in the SAME DIRECTION AS TRAFFIC! SEE THE DIFFERENCE?! If there is no sidewalk where you are WALKING… you should always walk in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC (against it).

A B C IR RAKES HAIN Let’s Talk BIKES! It is very important that your bike works the right way EVERY time you ride it! A IR CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR TIRES HAVE AIR IN THEM! B RAKES DOES THE WHEEL STOP WHEN YOU USE THE BRAKE? C HAIN IS ANYTHING STUCK IN THE CHAIN? DOES IT MOVE SMOOTHLY?

IT’S THE LAW PROTECT YOUR BRAIN! PUT IT ON RIGHT REMEMBER THIS RULE: There should be a HELMET ON YOUR HEAD if you have WHEELS AT YOUR FEET! PUT IT ON RIGHT When you look UP…you should be able to see your helmet! EYES IF YOUR HELMET IS DAMAGED YOU MUST GET A NEW ONE! The strap should form a “V” under and in front of the ear – along your jaw. EARS The strap should be loose enough so you can talk…but tight enough so you feel it when you open your mouth wide! IF YOU’RE UNDER 18 YEARS OLD IT’S THE LAW MOUTH YOU MUST WEAR A HELMET

I bet this guy wishes he had worn a helmet!
