Summary The main character of the story Titus is the narrator of the story. He is the oldest son of a middle class family consisting of a mother, father ,and two young boys. Titus was born into a world completely centered around technology and communication. Being born during this time period and having a good amount of money like his family, from a young age a small computer type electronic chip called the FeedNet was placed into his head and from there you are connected 24/7 to the Feed, the non stop jumble of text, talk, ads, shopping and more. Everything is controlled, your thoughts, dreams every waking hour and even sleeping you are being smothered with information. Titus is a teenager in a future world in which almost everyone has an implanted computer chip, the feed, which links their brains to the web, with its instant messaging, online ordering, entertainment programming, and a constant barrage of advertising tailored to his or her personal tastes, momentary desires, and current locations. But even if this is your idea of a prefect life, not everything works with technology. Big lesions are appearing in everyone's skin, hackers can get into your feed, and America isn't getting along so well with the rest of the world. None of this matters much to Titus and his friends until he meets a girl named Violet, who was homeschooled, as opposed to going to School and got her feed late. Now she's making Titus uncomfortably aware of what's going on with her malfunctioning feed.

Characters Titus The narrator and protagonist. Titus is the teenage son of an upper middle class family. For the most part, he is content with his consumerist lifestyle. When he meets Violet, Titus begins to help her "resist the feed", but ultimately abandons this project as he gives into peer pressure and the alluring advertisements. [1] Titus was genetically designed to look like Delglacey Murdoch, a two-star actor. Violet Durn Violet is Titus's girlfriend throughout the majority of the novel. She was raised by her eccentric father, and was home schooled. Violet did not get a feed until she was seven, unlike Titus and his friends whose feeds were implanted when they were infants.[2] Violet views the feed negatively, different from Titus and his friends. She also comes from a lower middle class background. Lincoln "Link" Arwaker Link is one of Titus's friends. He is described as being very tall and physically unsightly. His family is also depicted as much wealthier than Titus's family. Link is a clone of Abraham Lincoln and lives in a gated community.[3] Calista and Quendy compete for his attention throughout the book. Marty Another of Titus' friends, Marty is described as being good at any game. He is loud and obnoxious at times. At the end of the novel, Marty purchases the "Nike speech tattoo," causing him to insert the word "Nike" into all of his sentences. Calista Calista is Link's girlfriend throughout most of the novel. She is the ring leader of the group of girls and was the first to get "cosmetic" lesions. Confrontational and outspoken, she instigates a major fight she and the other characters have with Violet.

Connections World-Computers now have become a large part of life and you don’t go a day without seeing at least half the people you see with some sort of technology and are using it weather it’s a game, website, music, anything. And I wouldn’t be surprised if in the future they tried to do something like this. Text To Text- Story- The giver, In the story the giver they are basically controlled the same way but they are controlled by memories and do not make choices of there own, because of the strict government and rules of memories.

Text To Project The text relates to my project because in the story, computers are more advanced and are doing more. They do things that computers do not do today like in my project. It’s a interface touch hud which is not around right now. In the story they go through life everyday using things like this normally.
