Where not to get photos Web Search Why Not? Low resolution Copyright infringement Copyright Law protects images from the moment of creation, with or without notice of copyright Must have permission from owner/creator

Alternatives to photos Illustrations Used for form of imagery where there aren’t original images (i.e. dragons) Used for sensitive subject matter (i.e. murder) Used to show change over time (i.e. arrows, times stamps Type as image Filling letters with images (see p. 154) Pull quotes
