What is Naviance?

Connecting Learning to Life Introduction to Naviance What is Naviance? Connecting Learning to Life Naviance is a comprehensive K-12 college and career readiness solution that helps districts and schools align student strengths and interests to postsecondary goals, improving student outcomes and connecting learning to life.

The K-12 Student Lifecycle What is Naviance? The K-12 Student Lifecycle Post-Secondary Preparation Self-Discovery Career Exploration Academic Planning What do I want to be? How will I get there? Will I be successful? Who am I? The Naviance platform will help your students in 4 key areas: Self Discovery, Career Exploration, Academic Planning, and Post-Secondary Preparation. Students can take different assessments/personality inventories to learn more about themselves. Students are then introduced to careers that are a good fit based on their assessment results and cart start to think about what they want to be. As students research careers, they can learn what credentialing will be needed as well as related college majors. Students can search for colleges that offer specific majors and learn about the requirements for application and admittance. Once students know what they need to do to reach their career and/or college goals, they can formally set goals for themselves, as well as a to-do list, so that they can manage everything they need to do to successfully reach their post-secondary goals.

Naviance at LAUSD AWARE ELIGIBLE PREPARED Students will understand post-secondary options and see the importance of college. ELIGIBLE Students will complete the requirements necessary for the college entrance and success . PREPARED Students will graduate from high school with the knowledge, skills, dispositions, and attributes necessary for post-secondary education. The 3 key goals for using Naviance at LAUSD are that our students are more aware of their post-secondary options and see the importance of college. That our students are more eligible and have complete all of the requirements for college entrance and success. And, that our students are more prepared with the knowledge, skills, dispositions and attributes necessary for post-secondary education Our students will become more aware, eligible and prepared by using Naviance and completing a series of recommended activities.
