Helpful Definitions Organization – This is the unit in SPIN. This could consist of a student organization, campus department, or sub-set of the former. This does not have to be an actual organization. Organization Directory – This is the list of all organizations in SPIN. This is accessed by clicking on the tab at the top of the page. Roster – This is the list of individuals associated with the organization. These could be associated students, professional personnel, or others who need access to viewing or editing the organization information. Not all individuals listed on the roster will be able to see or edit all organization information.

Helpful Definitions (cont.) Member- All individuals on the organization roster. Position – Position held by an individual on the roster. This could be a student staff position, professional staff position, administrative position, or officer position. Position Type – Where the position appears on the roster. Event – This is a happening with a defined time period. This does not need a physical “event” in the traditional sense of the word. For example, this could be an important deadline or start date. Event Directory – This is the list of all Events in SPIN. This is accessed by clicking on the tab at the top of the page.
