The problem In 2015, approximately 302,220 children under-five died from malaria. That’s 69% of the worldwide malaria mortality burden (WHO, 2015). An effective way of fighting malaria is through IRS Indoor residual spraying (IRS) is the application of insecticide to the inside of dwellings, on walls and other surfaces that serve as a resting place for malaria- infected mosquitoes. IRS kills mosquitoes when they come in contact with treated surfaces, preventing disease transmission.
