Facts on Louis Pasteur Born in Dole, France on December 27, 1882 Died in Marnes-la-Coquette, France on September 28, 1895 Was 72 when he died His full name is Louis Pasteur As far as my research, he didn’t have a middle name He did his work in Arbois, France A fact about Louis Pasteur I thought was interesting was that the first person to get treated for the rabies vaccine was Joseph Meister and he got the vaccine when he was nine. A quote by Louis Pasteur is “Chance favors the prepared mind.”

What made Louis Pasteur Famous His work has saved millions of lives He discovered that microbes could be killed through heating That had people heating liquids, such as milk, or juice in a process called Pasteurization He studied microbiological organisms He divined how microbiological organisms caused disease He discovered anaerobic bacteria He discovered 2 silkworm diseases

How his work impacts society Hospitals developed more rigorous hygiene practices Which made the hospitals much safer places to recover from illness Doctors now inoculate people against all kinds of diseases and, for a time, had almost eradicated smallpox
