Unit 6 Fractions

Day 1 Harvey is having a birthday party. He knows that all of his friends love pizza. He invites 3 three friends to his party. How should Harvey cut his pizza so that everyone gets the same amount?

Day 1 Right after Harvey cut his pizza into 4 slices the doorbell rings!! Four more friends show up to Harvey’s party. How can Harvey make sure everyone has an equal slice now?

Day 1 How many slices are left? 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8= 3/8

Day 1 What fraction of the pizza is cheese? 4/8 or ½ Write the fraction as the sum of unit fractions 1/8 +1/8 +1/8 +1/8 = 4/8
