Focus: Was the Industrial Revolution Worth the Cost? You will be asked to put “industrialization” on trial. Half of you will be the plaintiffs (those who condemn the industrial revolution) and the other half of you will be the defendents (those who defend the industrial revolution). Hint: You might search for “exhibits” to prove the guilt or innocence of your client. Examples: Documents, pictures, etc…

Trial Format Opening Statements 1-2 minute planning period to prepare “Challenge” Questions/Cross-examination. Questions and Responses. Time Perameters: Opening Statements – 1 minute. Responses to Questions – 30 seconds. (There will be 30 seconds to plan for each question response).

Best Group for EACH: Pro and Con CHALLENGE TO OPENING STATEMENTS – (0-10) Asks clear and specific questions which address specific points made during the opening statements. No one person or group should dominate. A variety of people and groups should take turns asking and answering questions. RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS – (0-10) Responds to the specific questions and provides logical and convincing ideas to defend their position. No one person or group should dominate.
