GCIS for 8th grade students

GCIS and the BRIDGE Law 8th Grade Students Georgia Career Information Center, through its Georgia Career Information System (GCIS), provides current and accurate occupational and educational information to schools and agencies throughout Georgia in order to help young people and adults make informed career choices. How Do I Log into GCIS? 1. Log onto the computer. 2. Go to www.gcic.peachnet.edu or click the GCIS icon on your desktop.

3. Click on the first icon on the left side of the pages that says Click Here to Enter Georgia Career Information System GCIS.

4. On the next screen, enter your “My Portfolio” username and password 4. On the next screen, enter your “My Portfolio” username and password. Your username is your student id (example: 123456) and the password is Password1. Click Sign In. You will be prompted to change to a new password since Password1 is the temporary password.

Please complete the Set Security Questions so that you can retrieve your password later, if needed. Then click Set Questions.

Career Cluster Inventory 48 questions How Do I Get Started with My Activity?

5. Scroll down the screen, under Learn About Myself, click View.

6. Click Go to Career Cluster Inventory (48 Questions).

7. Read the instructions and click the Rate the Activities button

9. After you make your last selection, click Results.

10. You will see your Career Cluster Inventory (48 Questions) scores display from highest to lowest. You can also explore the Energy, Georgia’s 17th Career Cluster. Click Save.

3. Use the Alphabetical Index to find the first letter of an occupation. Click on the occupation.

4. To learn more about the occupation, click each topic on the left side of screen.

5. Click Save to add the occupation to your “My Portfolio”.

6. Enter your thoughts about the occupation 6. Enter your thoughts about the occupation. For example, you might note what you learned about the occupation. Click Save Information.
