When Jesus takes the wheel…

From last week… “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) “Vengan a mí todos ustedes que están cansados y agobiados, y yo les daré descanso.” (Mateo 11:28)

One step further… “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:29) “Carguen con mi yugo y aprendan de mí, pues yo soy apacible y humilde de corazón, y encontrarán descanso para su alma.” (Mateo 11:29) Psalm 23 Psalm 1

Might not look as we expect… Proverbs 3:5-6 – Full trust and submission Matthew 10:38 – Self denial and likely suffering Luke 5:4-7 – Some times it’s illogical. But it’s the place of greatest peace, joy, and fruitfulness…

Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. GENESIS 12:1 On Route to Canaan…

“…Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery. Not at all “…Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. 12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!” (Romans 11: 11-12)

Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. RUTH 1:16 A Deeper Devotion…

Matthew 10: 5-10 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a] drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. 9 “Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts— 10 no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.
