TeamMates Gold Strike it rich: mining your data to secure funding for your program

Describing TeamMates: 101 Sample Question: Describe your organization’s mission, vision, values. Mission: to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential through mentoring. Vision: Insert your chapter’s vision here – goal number of matches, strategies to help students succeed, etc. Core Values: Commitment to youth, Integrity and Trust, Safety and Inclusion. Insert information about your local chapter.

Describing TeamMates: 102 Sample Question: Describe your organization’s core functions/program. School-based mentoring program that matches adult volunteers with youth in grades 3-12 with the goal of seeing the student reach high school graduation with a plan for post-secondary education. Matches meet once per week during the school year. Meetings at school provide for safety of both mentor and mentee and allow for on-site match support from school building staff. Matches learn their strengths which helps identify the mentee’s unique gives and talents, giving the mentee a positive outlook for a hopeful future. Beginning in middle school, matches start working on plans for the mentee to prepare for college or other post-secondary education to prepare them to achieve their dreams in adulthood.

Using the Dashboard to Explain Impact Sample Question: How does your program measure impact or change? Perception of match quality in mentor/mentee surveys Length of match = 3 years or more Students reaching high school graduation with a plan for post-secondary education # of mentoring visits = 24 or more Improvement in grades, attendance and behavior

Using the Dashboard to Explain Impact Sample Question: How does your program define success? % of matches that last three years or longer % of mentors completing renewal training every three years as defined in our program standards Annual retention rate above xx% xx% of matches reaching 24 or more visits each year
