What is fundraising?

Why? Key Club is not just about service and leadership; fundraising is also a huge aspect of our organization! The best part of fundraising is that the possibilities are endless and that they can be incorporated into any event.

What? Fundraising is the act of putting on an event or some sort of service to raise money for some cause. Fundraising for nonprofits is very popular!

Types of Fundraisers

Seasonal Fundraisers Halloween costume contests Valentine grams Christmas bake sales And More!

Item Fundraisers WHAT: Items being exchanged for a set donation price, typically merchandise. There are so many possibilities for this!

Project Fundraisers Large or small-scale fundraising projects that benefit some sort of cause! Car washes, dances, etc. These take a bit more planning than other fundraisers, but are totally doable and can be very successful!

Outside Event Fundraisers Fundraisers put on at outside venues to raise money for either a cause or club. Bowling, Ice Skating, Laser tag, etc. These events are very fun but require extensive planning and publicity!

Fundraisers, Size, and Event Planning!

Large Scale Fundraisers Large scale fundraisers have the biggest impact and most potential to raise amazing sums of money EXAMPLE: Fall Rally North/South Popular large scale fundraisers include Awake-a-thons and dances.

Large Scale Fundraisers These require A LOT of proactive planning. Do not decide to have a large scale fundraiser in a few short weeks; take months to plan it. Appoint people to chair the event to promote leadership inclusiveness.

Medium Scale Fundraisers Although smaller events, these still take time to plan Most mid-size fundraisers take place at outside venues such as a bowling alley Connect with local businesses and venues to see what opportunities are available for events Publicizing is key!!!

Small Scale Fundraisers These are the absolute EASIEST Do not take much time to plan at all, but you should still be proactive Popular ones include: grams, restaurant nights, bake sales, etc. Since these are so easy, they are very simple to get creative with

Publicity!

Publicity For ANY fundraiser to be successful, you must publicize! Social media, school news, word of mouth, etc. Make graphics and spread the word! Set AT LEAST 2 weeks for yourself to publicize the fundraiser
