THE DISASTERS & EMERGENCIES PREPAREDNESS PROGRAMME AN INTRODUCTION Humanitarian Emergency Response Review, 2011 anticipation, capacity, new partnerships 2009: <1% of ODA was spent on projects working to prepare countries for potential disasters (<5% of all humanitarian funding in 2009) UK Government response - Investments in building capacity, preparedness stage £40 million: [DEPP] 3 years £29 million: CDAC and Start Networks £1 million: Independent Evaluation £10 million: DEPP Innovation Window

THE DISASTERS & EMERGENCIES PREPAREDNESS PROGRAMME THE AIMS The DEPP will result in a significant improvement in the speed and delivery of humanitarian assistance to disaster affected communities in high risk countries.
