Housing at NYU Berlin: An Overview All students live in NYU-arranged housing which has been vetted by a University committee on student safety All students apply for housing online via the online Study Away Confirmation Portal. Housing is available only during the official program dates – if planning to arrive early or leave late, check immigration ramifications and make alternate arrangements! NYU Berlin Student Residence Double Rooms 1. Double Room - $5,500 2. Doubles with Bunk - $5,100 Bunkbeds instead of single beds Singles Rooms Private bedroom in shared apartment - $5,800 Note: Very limited number of singles – priority will be given to students with Moses Center accommodation recommendations Amenities Fully furnished apartments, located near Checkpoint Charlie Shared bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen space for 2-8 students per apartment Larger apartments (6-8) students have bigger kitchens (2 sinks and 2 fridges) Shared TV Lounge, Space for Spiritual Practice, bike room Wireless Internet, Bedding and towels provided Weekly linen service Laundry in basement Study rooms on each floor

Guest Policy A Resident Host must have written permission of their roommate and/or suitemates for overnight guests staying one or more nights. A guest may not stay for more than four consecutive nights and for more than six nights per calendar month during teaching weeks Be sure to schedule visits around fall break or when you don’t have exams/papers! You may not miss class because you have guests, even parents!

Housing Application Apply online via the Study Away Confirmation Portal Assignments are made based on Portal submissions and availability. Be sure to put down 2nd or 3rd choices. If requesting a roommate, make sure you indicate the same housing type (off- campus apt. double, for example) Remember, we have few single rooms available and preference will go to students registered with the Moses Center.

Study Away Confirmation Portal Submissions are due by November 17 You will be able to select from the following housing options: - “Berlin – Double” - “Berlin – Single” Within each option you will select your bedroom preferences (if applicable) Remember, Housing at our Global Sites differs from Housing in New York – you won’t be able to select the exact bed in the exact room.

Housing Reservation Payment & Deferment As part of the application most students will need to submit a $1,000 reservation payment If you successfully applied to defer your $500 reservation fee (to confirm your spot at NYU Berlin) your Housing Reservation payment will automatically be deferred as well. If you did not defer your reservation fee but need to request a deferment of the $1,000 Housing Reservation payment, please email housing@nyu.edu If you have already successfully deferred your Housing Reservation Payment you should see this tab on your Study Away Confirmation Portal
