What is the meaning of this story? Six blind men meet an elephant for the first time, each man touches a different part of the animal and predicts what an elephant is like. The first touches the body, it is hard and wide so he concludes an elephant is like a wall. The second touches the trunk and describes it as long and wiggly like a snake, the third touches a leg and describes it as thick and hard like a tree. The onlooker concludes that this is because each man only touched part rather of the elephant rather than the whole of the animal.
