Methods The WHO commissioned PATA to undertake a facility-level situational analysis of adolescent HIV treatment and care services in preparation for consolidated guidelines PATA network & CHAI, EGPAF & SSDO health facilities Web-based survey High Level (HL) & Deep Dive (DD) versions (31 vs 61 items) English, French & Portuguese Telephonic follow-up 50% response rate from PATA network

Results SAMPLE 218 facilities, 23 countries, 3 sub-regions Together, cared for 80,072 ALHIV (definition variable) TREATMENT ADHERENCE Non-adherence key challenge (40%), but insufficient protocols (39%) Adherence counselling focused primarily on behaviour Most recommend peer support, BUT no mechanisms Mental health issues (41%) and neurocognitive impairment (21%)

Most common approach: specific day or time DATA ISSUES Poor definition consistency (26%) & data disaggregation (80%) SEPARATE SERVICES Attend to adolescents at same time & space as adult/paediatric (65%) TRANSITION No protocols to guide transition (49%) SRH integration Limited integration of SRH services (63%) Most common approach: specific day or time
