Social Studies Ramadan competition

This Social Studies session we will be doing something a little different. We will be starting our Ramadan competition!

Think of all the topics we have studied and talked about so far this year in Social Studies. We have discussed many traditions, places and food for example and learnt some new vocabulary connected to these topics. Now it is time to use this new knowledge to be creative and earn some housepoints at the same time!

Firstly, you need to get into groups of two or three people. Next, you need to work together on the task below; Your task is to produce an A to Z list of items/subjects/areas connected to Dubai and the UAE. Each letter of the alphabet will need to be the first letter of something connected to the UAE. For example; A – Ajman F – Ferrari World

For extra credit, you could draw some pictures to match the letters as well. The way you present your work is up to you – be creative! Use the next two Social Studies sessions to work on this – the closing date is Thursday 17th June 2016 Make sure you have your names on the papers and submit them to your class teacher by the closing date. Winners will be announced the following week.

Good Luck Hints and Tips Use The Key to Dubai book for reference. Research topics on Chromebooks. Think of the topics discussed during previous Social Studies lessons. Good Luck

A Ajman B C D E F Ferrari World Example: Write the word next to the letter and then add a picture. (you can draw your own picture.)
