Beginnings of Civilization With your group, read page 21. Write in important notes about: Advantages of a settled life The population grows Early towns and villages THE BIG 3

Advantages of a Settled Life People could have a steady supply of food all year. They no longer had to travel. They even had surplus food- more than was needed.

The Population Grows Food surplus allowed families to have more children. The population grew fast.

Early Villages and Towns Farming settlements grew larger into towns. With a surplus of food, people did not have to spend all of their time farming. People were able to do other things- like become artisans.
