Small Group Research Activity Homer’s Iliad

Slide 1 – Research a god/ goddess Choose one of the gods or goddesses that appear in the Iliad to perform more research. In your slide(s) include: Family Powers/ Traits Where they appear in other myths Their significance in the Iliad. Use the following links to help you as well as the provided books. Slide 2 – Compare Achilles to a modern hero. Choose someone your group feels represents heroism today. Identify similarities and differences between that hero and Achilles. Consider Upbringing/ Family Obstacles/ Goals/ Intentions Character Traits Acts of Heroism Conclude your slide with an explanation of how Greek heroes generally differ from our idea of heroes. Cite your sources
