** 5th Grade ** Week of: November 7, 2016 Veteran’s Day Celebration 11/11 Thanksgiving Break November 21-25 We will now be learning how to multiply and divide a whole and a fraction. This will also include the use of models and pictures. This still requires the students to use all areas that we have covered- simplifying, renaming, converting, and regrouping. (TEKS 5.4A, 5.3H, 5.3I, 5.3L) Wow! Great Job on Reading Benchmark! I am so proud. We have been discussing the elements of Literary Non-Fiction this week – to include Biography and Autobiography. Next week we will continue our discussion of non-fiction text features. 5.7 (A), 5.7 Fig 19 (D) (E) We will identify the inherited traits of learned behaviors of plants and animals in different biomes (ecosystems) all over the world. TEKS 5.9A,B, 5.9C We are identifying, explaining, & analyzing the patterns of land settlement in the U.S. We are also discussing the importance & meaning of Veteran’s Day.
