Spirit Mound Spirit mound was home to the Omaha, Sioux, and Otoe Indians. Spirit mound was feared by the Indians of this area because it is supposed to be home to devils with very watchful eyes. So the group decided to check it out and when they got to the top they saw a beautiful view of the land.

Lolo Trail Lolo trail is home to the Nez Perce tribe. This trail was going to be a challenge for the weary travelers. So they decided to gather as many horses as they could and try their luck on the trail. After 11 days they finished and met the Nez Perce Indians.

Travelers Rest Travelers Rest is home to the Shoshone tribe. The explorers found this group of meadows along the Bitterroot river and before the Lolo trail found some of what they needed here. Here the group split up for a little while then met later.
