Park Mead Primary School PTFA – Treasurer’s Report 2012-13 The Park Mead Primary School PTFA has yet again enjoyed a very successful year in raising funds for the school. Total money raised this year was slightly more than last year, a fantastic £12,540 (2012: £11,880). Some of the money raised this year has been well spent with £8,500 (2011: £16,433) having been donated to the school. The remainder of the funds raised this year added to the surplus brought forward means that we have £13,150 still to spend.    The biggest fundraiser again this year was the pantomime raising a total of £2,808 (2012 £2,621). This again was a very successful event and was enjoyed by many. Thank-you to the cast and helpers for putting on such a great performance.   The next two biggest fundraisers were the Christmas Fair and the Summer Fair which raised £1,934 and £1,894 respectively. We were lucky enough have good weather again for the Summer Fair which meant that we could hold it out in the field. A huge thank-you to the Fair team for yet again another successful years fundraising. The next biggest fundraiser was Phil the Bag raising £1,319 (2012 435). The two collections for this academic year were in November 2012 and April 2013 raising £480 and £584 respectively. Other Fundraisers included the Cake Raffle which raised a fantastic £1,524 slightly up on last year (2012: £1,358) and the twice termly tuck-shop which raised £711 (2012 £7,60). The Nearly New Sales were yet again proven to be a good fundraiser turning a profit of £715 (2012 £680) and for the second year running the Race Night was a fun event enjoyed by many and raised £714 (2012 £724) This years new event was a Retail Therapy Show which saw some of our own mums turn into models for the evening, another enjoyable event which raised £619. Thank-you to Ness Baker for taking charge of this event. Finally, presents for parents raised £393 and the Northbrook Wrapping Paper sale which raised £120, not to mention the £4.89 bank interest that we received. We donated funds totalling £8,500 to the school this year which went towards various items including a new Sound System for the hall, a ‘Natural Area’ outside the year 2 classrooms, playground markings, digital cameras for the classrooms, Maths games , buddy jackets and extra resources for every classroom. We also mostly funded the Year 6 leavers yearbooks and disco as agreed so that they had a good send off at the end of 2013. We start the new academic year with £13,150 in the pot. We have committed expenditure of £644 for the new notice board and £780 for Year 1 equipment. We have also allocated funds totalling up to £3,500 for workshops for each year group (£500 per year group). We are hoping that we can work with the teachers to find some more worthwhile spending opportunities this year. Thank-you to everyone who has been involved this year in helping to raise fund for the PTFA . Whether you have organised, helped at or supported an event, without you we would not be able to raise this money for our children. Many thanks to Rhyddian Llewelyn who is kindly auditing the books and records of the PTFA for 2012//13.
