Bees are very important Bees are very important. Bees pollinate the flowers on many trees and other plants. We need to provide the right environments for many kinds of bees.

Honeybees Honeybees provide us with honey and pollinate many plants.

Bumblebees Bumblebees are great pollinators. There are at least thirteen different kinds in Wisconsin.

Leaf Cutter Bees This is a young ash tree from which segments have been cut by a Leaf Cutter Bee.

Leaf Cutter Bees This Leaf Cutter Bee is carrying a piece cut from a flower into its nest.

Green Sweat Bees There are several kinds of Green Sweat Bees in Wisconsin.

Other Wild Bees This is another kind of wild bee called an andrenoid bee. Wild bees are important pollinators. Look at the flowers on trees and other plants. Watch for the kinds of bees that come to gather nectar and pollinate the blossoms.
