Key projects in Waltham Forest… Lea Bridge Road Cycle Superhighway Walthamstow Town Centre & Villages Town Centres A network of excellent Cycle Routes Complementary Measures Cycle Hubs The Enjoy Waltham Forest effect: The scheme will deliver comprehensive street improvements for all, with a focus on safety and convenience for cycling and walking, with imaginative public realm enhancements in residential and local shopping areas. The overall result will be a shift to cycling and walking that is excellent value for money.

Lea Bridge Road - ‘A Street for All’ Key data Key movement corridor with a length of 2.6 miles 30,000 vehicles per day 3000 cyclists per day 118 cyclists and 60 pedestrians injured (2009-13) including 20 serious and 1 fatality How people travel

Key design features of the Lea Bridge Road scheme Segregated, continuous cycle tracks Improved and new pedestrian and cycle crossings Permeable surfaces – no pooling, or ice on paths or roads Some side roads closed with modal filters Copenhagen crossings at all side roads Reallocation of road space Bus stop bypasses Redesigned and simplified signalised junctions

Ruckholt - Road Before Key movement corridor linking to Hackney, Newham and the trunk road network 24,500 vehicles per day 1,500 cyclists per day

Conclusion LBWF, TfL, TRL – currently monitoring bus stop borders, bus stop bypass, Copenhagen crossings. Report due later this year. Semi - segregation working well, no failures or incidents. LBWF – engaging with the public to understand their perception of the changes. No reported collisions involving cyclists to date.
