In all subjects, a significant relationship was found between 24-hour urine sodium excretion and number of metabolic syndrome factors (p<0.0001). There was a significant difference of 24-hour urine sodium excretion according to the number of metabolic syndrome factors in women (p=0.0308), but not in men (p=0.2235). Data are expressed as mean±standard deviation. Data from subjects with five factors of metabolic syndrome were added to four factors.
