Cycle Count-Scheduled Standard Work Updated 3.2.2017 In advance of delivering this module, make sure you have the following all set… Copies of the ATD Warehouse Toolkit for attendees Use this slide to welcome the team to this module Disciplines to drive excellence into your daily work and mindset from warehouse to delivery. Cycle Count-Scheduled Standard Work

What is Scheduled Cycle Count Standard Work? What is X? What is Scheduled Cycle Count Standard Work? The purpose of this standard work (SW) is to assist warehouse workers in performing Scheduled Cycle Counts. A Scheduled Cycle Count is a task generated by Oracle on a daily basis that requires a specific bin and item combination to be counted. Completion of Scheduled Cycle Counts ensures inventory accuracy. The number of Scheduled Cycle Counts that a Distribution Center needs to count depends on its total inventory value. Over the course of a year, Scheduled Cycle Counts will cover counting of the Distribution Center’s inventory four times. Review the purpose on this slide.

The ATD Discussion Board What value does having a Scheduled Cycle Count standard work process provide to our DC? Ask each of these questions taking comments after each.

Steps… Scheduled Cycle Count SW What is X? Sign into the handheld by entering a username and password. If prompted, enter the DC’s three digit code. For example, Lubbock’s Organization Code is 601. At the main menu screen, scroll down using the arrow keys to Option 8: “Count”. Press Enter. From the “Count” sub-menu, select Option 1: “Cycle Tasks”. A “Choose Eqp/Sub” screen will display. No information is required to be entered. The user can press enter four times to advance to the “Count” screen. Review this slide

Steps… Scheduled Cycle Count SW What is X? The “Count” screen will display the first bin and item combination that the user needs to count. This information can be found at the “Loc” line item of the current task. Proceed to the first Bin Location Once the user has arrived at the bin, scan the Sub- inventory bar code, “Stock”, located in the top left-hand corner of the bin’s sticker. Scan the Locator bar code on the bottom right-hand corner of the bin’s sticker. Example: 14.24.C. Check the handheld for the item number that needs to be counted – this can be found at the “Item” line item of the current task. Review this slide

Steps… Scheduled Cycle Count SW What is X? Locate the corresponding item in the bin and scan its barcode label. Count how many of that item are present in the bin. Enter the quantity counted into the “Qty” line on the handheld device. Press Enter. Press Enter on “Save/Next Item” to proceed to the next bin and item combination that needs counting. Review this slide

Steps… Scheduled Cycle Count SW What is X? Repeat steps 3-10 until no more tasks remain. Advise management that the Scheduled Cycle Counts have been completed. Note: Management will then review if there are any variances produced from the user’s Scheduled Cycle Counts. A variance is produced if the user counts a different amount of an item than the system has a record of. Management will then assign the variances out for a re-count to ensure user error was not accountable for the variance. Follow the steps outlined with the SW document to complete all subsequent recounts. Once completed, advise management that this has occurred. Review this slide

Wrap-up Discussion What is X? What are the important things to remember when it comes to this Standard Work? What’s our greatest risk if we don’t follow this? Ask each question taking comments.
