Section 2.5 Day 2

A stuffed animal order was placed for 900 pandas, 1200 dogs, and 2000 birds. The company can make 500 pandas, 800 dogs, and 1300 birds in the LA plant and the rest in the NY plant. Each panda requires 1.5 sq yards of plush, 30 cubic ft of stuffing and 5 pieces of trim. The dogs need 2, 35 and 8 of the same things and the birds need 2.5, 25 and 15. The plush costs $4.50 per sq yard, the stuffing is 10 cents per cubic foot, and the trim is 25 cents a piece. Find how much of each type of material must be purchased for each plant. What is the total cost for each plant and for the whole company to fill the order?

The amount of material at each plant is found by doing PA

The total cost of material at each plant is found by doing PAC LA $39,850 and NY $22,450 for a total cost of $62,300
