Is the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany, a sixteen states of Germany and Germany's largest cities in terms of population. State is a "U.S. cities" three of the Federal Republic of Germany (along with Bremen and Hamburg).

This label comes from the fact that the city limits are the same jurisdiction. Berlin is also the second largest city in the European Union after London.
