Welcome Wolf Families To our Texas History Classroom This presentation was designed By Willow in 5th period. Thank you Willow! :)

Educational Background This is my seventeenth year in education, and my fourth year as a CTMS Wolf. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas and have attended the Pre- AP Studies Institute at Texas Christian University. In addition to History, I hold teacher certifications in Language Arts/Reading, Math, Gifted and Talented, and ESL. I am a member of VALOR in GCISD, which has allowed to connect with other growth minded teachers, and has greatly impacted the way I teach and learn. I look forward to sharing more about VALOR with you this year. I am also a member of our PTA and SAGE, both as a teacher and a parent. We have children here at CTMS, and also at OC Taylor.

Amy Dieterich- 7th Grade Texas History Pre AP- 1st, 6th, 7th Periods Discoveries- 2nd, 3rd, 5th Periods Conference Period is 4th period 4th Period- 10:46-11:35

Contact Me amy.dieterich@gcisd.net Phone extension is 3219 If your email or call is not returned within 24 hours, please resend or call again. Parent input and communication is very important to me. We are a team!

The syllabi for both courses are on my website. Course Information The syllabi for both courses are on my website. How do I get better?

Stay Connected- Google Classroom and Remind Make sure I have your email address tonight so I can invite you to join Google Classroom as a guardian.

Students and guardians can stay connected on important dates and deadlines with Remind

Online Textbook Connect-Ed We will be receiving log-in information after our 1:1 roll out. I will send an email through Skyward and Remind to notify you. Students will have one place where they can log on to digital textbooks. Our McGraw Hill resource has interactive text, adjustable reading levels, and lots of study materials and review games. It also has pop outs in Spanish and will read the text aloud to you in English.

Extended Learning My website has information on extended learning opportunities for both Pre AP and Discoveries classes. One opportunity may be completed each nine weeks, and they are always optional. {

Come be a part of Texas History- learn with us! Just be sure to check in with the office, then come and see what learning looks like in 2016! March Madness Debates and Texas Annexation Socratic Seminar

We take our learning outside the classroom! Stay tuned...

GCISD VALOR We learn by taking risks, seeking challenges, and understanding that failures create growth and wisdom Please see the letter from Dr. Doughney about VALOR and how it benefits students and GCISD. I have grown so much as an educator, and I feel honored to a be a member again this year.
