Fremont 6th Grade Physical Education Student Expectations Mrs. Farrell Dr. Koch Mr. Mendez “Safe, Respectful, and Responsible Behavior”

Fremont Physical Education Mission Statement Our goal is to provide a quality physical education program, introducing students to a variety of activities throughout the year that will encourage enjoyment of physical activity. We strive to provide students with the skills, knowledge and confidence that will enable them to become a lifelong physically active person. We want the students to understand the importance of physical activity in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the lifetime benefits of health and wellness. Our goal is to keep students active, engaged and feeling successful while emphasizing kindness, cooperation and respect for one another.

Grading Policy Students grades are based on: PARTICIPATION ASSESSMENTS EFFORT BEHAVIOR

Make-Up Policy In order for students to achieve full credit for missed classes due to illness or absence the student must make up the classwork before grades are finalized at the end of every trimester. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the teacher and arrange to make up the missed work.

Dress Policy Students are expected to dress every day for physical education. It is the responsibility of the student to check out loaner clothes. Failure to do so will result in being sent up to the office. 1st nonsuit = loaner clothes issued 2nd nonsuit = loaner clothes issued 3rd nonsuit = loaner clothes issued; detention and parent contact 4th nonsuit = loaner clothes issued; detention and referral to the office.

Students are Expected: To report to the physical education area on time, dress out quickly, lock up personal belongings and walk out to designated numbers and sit down for attendance. Leave all PE equipment alone until a teacher gives permission for its use. Remember NO PUSHING , SHOVING, OR CHASE GAMES ALLOWED WHILE WAITING FOR TEACHER!

Students are Expected to: RESPECT The property and rights of others And accept the ability of others The teaching and learning process And take pride in your physical education facility, equipment and uniform

Students are Expected to Participate Participate safely and to the best of their ability in all activities, regardless of skill level, interest, or physical limitations. A POSITIVE attitude is everything!

Students are Expected to: To enter the locker room from the front doors. Line up behind the grass before entering. Wait for permission from the teacher to enter the locker room. Read the message board for any necessary information.

Students are Expected to: Conduct themselves in an orderly fashion while in the locker room. For example: No Running No throwing items of any kind No horseplay No excessive noises No use of aerosol SPRAYS!!!

Students are Expected to: Use their assigned locker for physical education uniform and personal belongings . Not share lockers or combinations with other students. Lock all valuables in your locker during class. Your Physical Education Teacher is not responsible for your personal belongings, therefore it is your responsibility to make sure you have locked your locker!!! Double, Triple check if you have to…

Students are Expected to: NOT chew Gum! Do not bring candy, food, or drinks to PE class or store in your locker.

Finally, Students are Expected to: Demonstrate good citizenship, and sportsmanship at all times. Rude, inconsiderate and/or inappropriate language or behavior WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!
