THE NATIONAL COLLEGE OF COMPUTER SCIENCES ,,GRIGORE MOISIL’’ BRASOV

We are delighted to present you our college… It is placed in one of the most beautiful cities from Romania, Brasov. It holds the name of Romanian academician, Grigore Moisil, the founder of computer sciences in Romania. The history of the high school dates from 1938. After it was a primary and secondary school, it became a College.

Grigore Constantin Moisil He was born on 10th of January, 1906 in Tulcea, Romania. He was a mathematician, computer pioneer,  member of the Romanian Academy, Academy of Sciences of Bologna and the International Institute of Philosophy. He died in Ottawa , Canada at the age of 67, in 1973.

Our college structure It is divided in two main parts: A body and B body. In A body you can find the secretory , the teachers office , the festive hall , the computer labs and of course some of the classroms. In B body you can find the rest of the classroms , the chemistry , physics and biology labs and another teachers office.

Computer labs There are 5 computer labs in which we study one of our main classes, computer sciences. In each of them there are aproximately 35 modern computers. There are ten very well prepared teachers who help us to learn computer sciences.

Physics laboratory This is where all our physics classes are hold and where we do our amazing experiments. It has an amphitheatre shape with 10 desks , each one for 3 persons.

Chemistry laboratory This is where we hold our chemistry classes and where we make a lot of chemical reactions which we learn from our lovely teacher. Every time we are very excited to come here. Also it has intresting desks.

The classrooms In our highschool there are : 4 classes of intensive computer science profile 1 class of intensive English profile There are a total of 20 classes for highschool (16 - computer sciences and 4 – English) and 4 classes for secondary school.

School gym and basket / football area We also have a school gym where we hold our physical education classes. There are sometimes tournaments of different sports here. Near the school gym there are basketball and football areas.

Dumitru Dorin Prunariu Dumitru Dorin Prunariu graduated this highschool in 1971. He was the first and the only Romanian man who flew into the space. He stood there for 7 days, 20 hours and 42 minutes in ‘’Houis 40’’ mission.
