Work-related learning plays a vital role in young people’s journey to a successful adulthood and is a key part of the Italian school reform to the curriculum and the Diploma (Act. 107/2015). It helps young people connect their learning with the world of work, develop the employability skills and build their enterprise capability.

How it works

Professional Aims

Developing skills needed in the hospitality industry: Know how the different Hospitality sectors work Carry out the different forms of services according to the three sectors: Reception-waiting - Cookery Be able to work and learn independently and collaboratively Identify clients’ needs according to the hotel accommodation Behave professionally Know the legislation of the Hospitality Industry

Planning Work-Related Learning It’s up to the teachers of each class to prepare the work-related learning project they: Plan class lessons Collect the necessary materials Organize visits and training to businesses both inside national boundaries and abroad Evaluate students’ outcomes

Work - related learning training The student will be helped by two tutors during his/her training: The first one is internal to the school The second one is external and he/she works in the organization where the student is carrying out his/her training They both assess the student’s outcomes

W-R L ASSESSMENT (I) W-R Learning is a teaching methodology focusing on professional competences Competences are to be acquired and assessed throughout the 2nd two-year period+last year (Diploma) by intermediate and final grading meetings Certified and included into the student’s personal file

Case 3 STUDENT HAS NOT REACHED 75% OF w-r learning path STUDENT OF III/IV YEAR CONCLUDING WITH PASSING GRADE STUDENT IS ADMITTED BY TEACHERS CONSIDERING ALL EDUCATIONAL FEATURES

Case 4 (V year students attending in 2017-2018) STUDENT OF V YEAR (Diploma) CONCLUDING WITH PASSING GRADE STUDENT HAS NOT REACHED 75% OF w-r learning path STUDENT IS NOT ADMITTED TO THE DIPLOMA
