Alive-O (Junior Infants) Term 1: Lesson 13 Simeon and Anna Wait

Do you like waiting. What do you wait for Do you like waiting? What do you wait for? How do you feel when you are waiting for your birthday?

What are you waiting to happen next in your day What are you waiting to happen next in your day? Are you looking forward to anything today?

Anna was a young girl. She was good at waiting Anna was a young girl. She was good at waiting. She lived at the same time as Mary and Joseph.

Anna knew that a great leader would be born soon Anna knew that a great leader would be born soon. She waited, hoping that she would meet him sometime in her life.

Anna prayed to God, asking Him to let her meet Jesus when He was born.

Anna knew that God would not let her down.

When Anna grew old, she went to the Temple every day watching, waiting and praying to meet Jesus.

Simeon was a young boy. He, like Anna, was good at waiting Simeon was a young boy. He, like Anna, was good at waiting. He lived at the same time as Anna and in the same village.

Like Anna, Simeon knew that Jesus would be born soon and he waited, hoping that he would meet him sometime in his life time.

Simeon prayed to God, asking Him to let him meet the new leader when He was born.

Simeon knew that God would not let him down.

When Simeon grew old, he went to the Temple every day watching, waiting and praying to meet Jesus.

One day, as Simeon and Anna sat in the Temple praying to God, the doors opened. Anna and Simeon looked up. At last their waiting was over! Who do you think came in the door?

Like Simeon and Anna, you are waiting for Jesus’ birthday so that you may welcome Him into your heart. Are you getting ready like Anna and Simeon?
