Hurricanes Hurricanes are big storms that destroy everything nocking things down. When there is really big water and it creates a storm. Mexico is usually where it happens. The hurricanes can cause flood property damage . The effect on people is death causing mental drama. Other names for hurricanes include cyclone or typhoon and tropical storm. A hurricane is an intense tropical storm with power fall winds and heavy rain while they are essentially the same thing. What were the results? Hurricane Hazel was in 1954 and made a big flood . The wind reached 110 kilometres per hour. 81 people died and $1 billion damage. where did it occur ? It occurred in southern Ontario
