Christie This is our team here at NC DPI as part of the Whole Child team. Each one of you has an assigned ESL Consultant to work with you throughout the year. This graphic is also located on the back of the agenda.

Immigrant Headcount The Immigrant Headcount opens February 1, 2017. The deadline to submit the Annual Immigrant Headcount in PowerSchool is: February 24, 2017.

PowerSchool A few notes: For non-LEP English only Immigrant students Manually add these students in the Immigrant module For all other students Their Immigrant information will be created from: the manual/bulk upload entry of their WAPT test entry or the manual entry of their LEP status creation

Record Change Requests Be sure to submit complete documentation In most cases, the original HLS RCRs should not be submitted to change demographic information, or any other information unrelated to LEP, W-APT, or Immigrant functions. One RCR per student Reminders: Password Convention is LEP, all uppercase, and the LEA # (e.g., LEP010) RCRs should be saved as a (.doc) or (.docx)

Student Roster Reports include: Condensed LEP Roster – A condensed roster report of all students with a Current LEP Status based upon current enrollment LEP Roster – This report mirrors the previous Consolidated Federal Data Collection roster. It can include all status and only students who are active. This report should be utilized for reconciling third –party applications. MFLEPS – Lists all students who have exited LEP identification within the previous two years (Monitored Former Limited English Proficient Students).

Student Roster Student rosters are populated for the 2016-17 school year and statuses have been updated. As with any data process, it is important to review your data for any inconsistencies and discrepancies to ensure accuracy and data integrity. You may access the reports from the Start Page by: 1. Selecting ReportWorks 2. Selecting sqlReports 4 3. Selecting LEP 4. Select the applicable report

Should you have difficulty accessing these reports, please contact your PowerSchool administrator. LEP Coordinator’s should be in the PowerSchool group: 218 LEP Coordinator

Ready to submit? Go to the “Counts” Tab Click Submit! If necessary, you can dissapprove and click submit again until the close of the headcount on Feb. 24, 2017
