Proposals on remaining issues on search space 3GPP TSG RAN WG1 Meeting 90bis Prague, CZ, 9th – 13th, October 2017 Agenda item: 7.3.1.1 R1-17xxxxx Proposals on remaining issues on search space NTT DOCOMO, INC.

Background Current parameters for a CORESET configuration: Frequency domain resources Starting OFDM symbol Contiguous time duration REG bundle size Interleaved or non-interleaved (Agreed) For interleaved case, the number of rows for interleave matrix and configurable ID for cyclic shift of the interleaving unit Precoder granularity in frequency-domain (Agreed) Configurable ID for DMRS scrambling initialization Number of PDCCH candidates per AL per DCI format size that the UE monitors

Background Agreements: For PDCCH blind decoding, at least for the non-initial access, at least the following can be configured: Number of PDCCH candidates per CCE aggregation level, per DCI format size that the UE monitors Set of aggregation levels FFS explicit or implicit configuration Set of DCI format sizes FFS: per CORESET not used for initial access or search space FFS: Signalling details Note that the number of candidates can be zero UE blind decoding capability is known by NW FFS: How the capability is derived

Proposal on PDCCH monitoring One set of the following parameters determines a set of search spaces A set of aggregation levels The number of PDCCH candidates for each aggregation level PDCCH monitoring occasion for the set of search spaces For a given CORESET, an association among the following is given where FFS: how to achieve A search space set A DCI format size RNTI

Proposal on PDCCH monitoring For non-initial access, following parameters are configured by UE-specific RRC signaling: A set of aggregation levels Any combination from {1, 2, 4, 8, [16]} The number of PDCCH candidates for each aggregation level One value from {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8} PDCCH monitoring occasion for the set of search spaces One value of from {1-slot, 2-slot, [5-slot], [10-slot], [20-slot]} One or more value(s) from {1-symbol, 2-symbol, …, 13-symbol} Encoding of ASN.1 is up to RAN2

Background Working assumptions: In the case when only CORESET(s) for slot-based scheduling is configured for UE, the maximum number of PDCCH blind decodes per slot per carrier is X The value of X does not exceed 44 FFS the exact value of X FFS for multiple active BWP, multiple TRP, multiple carriers, multi beams FFS for non-slot based scheduling FFS numerology specific X

Proposal on PDCCH monitoring Confirm the following WA with an update (red part): In the case when only CORESET(s) for slot-based scheduling is configured for UE, the maximum number of PDCCH blind decodes per 1ms per carrier is X The value of X does not exceed 44 The value of X depends on the SCS
