TRCC SAFETY Presented by: ROB HOARD
Mandatory Pilot Calls Rob Hoard There are five mandatory pilot call outs: (1) “Taking off” Call this out after you have confirmed no aircraft are landing and prior to taxing onto the runway. (2) “Touch and Go” Call this out before a touch and go and only if the runway is clear of people and planes. (3) “Landing” Call this out before starting your landing. Check to make sure no one is using the runway at the time of your landing.
Mandatory Pilot Calls (4) “Dead Stick” Call out this if you have an engine out/power failure in flight. Calling out Dead Stick gives you priority on the field. All planes in the air should give you PRIORITY and wait for your situation to come to an end . (5) “On The Field” This is the most critical call to make. Call this out BEFORE crossing the Double Yellow Line. It is IMPORTANT other pilots acknowledge your intension to move onto the runway. DO NOT be slow about this! Get out there, retrieve your model and get back ASAP! When you are out on the field, your safety is at risk: don’t be a target!
