Acts 16:1-5 1 Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. And a disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek, 2 and he was well spoken of by the brethren who were in Lystra and Iconium. 3 Paul wanted this man to go with him; and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. 4 Now while they were passing through the cities, they were delivering the decrees which had been decided upon by the apostles and elders who were in Jerusalem, for them to observe. 5 So the churches were being strengthened in the faith, and were increasing in number daily.

Acts 16:6-10 6 They passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia; 7 and after they came to Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them; 8 and passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. 9 A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

PHILIPPANS 1:12 “Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel…”

8 “we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing…” 2 CORINTHIANS 4:8, 11 11 “For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.”

2 TIMOTHY 2:1-3 1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

He leadeth me; O blessed thought! O words with heavenly comfort fraught! What’er I do, wher’er I be, Still ‘tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

Resolved 2 Live by God’s Guidance… The Holy Spirit leads through divine directives. (16:8-10) 8 and passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. 9 A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.

Paul’s Game Plan

Our Divine Directives? “Go therefore and make disciples (fervent followers and learners of Jesus) of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you…” - Matthew 28:19-20 -

Our Divine Directives? “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses… - Acts 1:8 -
