Reminder on Policies Each student in years 7-11 needs to have a working, charged, appropriate learning device with them every day. Phones are not appropriate learning devices. Screens are too small for meaningful reading, research or collaboration. Also, too difficult to police what students may be doing with unfiltered 3G connections (for our protection and theirs!) Students can only be on devices with your permission or supervised in the library at lunchtime. Using devices in form rooms unsupervised or playing games during form time are not appropriate and students should be given a C3 for inappropriate use of devices

Device coverage – BYOD audit Moving to the next level of Blended Learning will only be successful if teachers can rely on every student being able to access the lesson. Tutors and PDs need to follow up on audit to enforce consistency ‘Refusers’ to be referred to FEM or ALG will also meet with parents

Next steps Tutors to follow up with tutees who are missing a device, issuing C1s daily and calling home if necessary PP students without a device to be referred to Emma Coyne. 2 chances given: if they break or lose a second device, a replacement will have to be signed in and out of IT Support each day Small number of loan devices available to be borrowed in IT Support. Students consequenced and need to sign in/out loan device daily Charging lockers now available in IT Support. Students with uncharged devices to be sent to have them charged before school or during break/lunch
