After Her Fathers Death Her Father Died in 1805 Received Proposal From Wealthy Brother of a friend Marriage was the sole option women had for social mobility & the vulnerability of single women without family estates who depend on wealthy relatives for a home became the subject at heart when writing Sense and Sensibility.
