Envelope Theme Activity Part I Find five different quotes in the novel to support your theme from chapters 1-3. Write these four things on ONE notecard: “The quote from the novel” Where you found it (the page #) Who said it Write a sentence on the back of the notecard explaining why your quote relates to the theme.

Envelope Theme Activity Part II Find classmates who are working on the same theme. Share your quotations and explanations with your group. Choose five quotes from your group discussion to add to your own envelope. As a group, find five new quotes from chapters 4-6. You should have fifteen different quotes in your envelope by the end of the activity.
