STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Activities Using Q-tips: I put three together and made them stand up. I made a maze with a lot of ways to stop. I made angles spelling my name.

Rube Goldberg / SIMPLE MACHINES What I liked: It was hard and I like hard stuff. What I learned: I learned about a wedge, incline plane and screw. These are called simple machines. (My video is on Mrs. Reppert’s website.)

Magni-Cent PENNIES Meghan had to find a penny for each year of her life. Her reflections: What I learned: I learned more about events in my life. What I liked: I liked looking for pennies.

Miss nelson is missing (Book activities) I had to think of an example of what could have happened to Miss Nelson. My idea was that she could have got fired.

Creative-thinking activities Realistic and Imaginary Creatures Compound Words Drawing Starts What I liked: I get to use my imagination. What I learned: Sometimes I have to use my imagination and sometimes I don’t.

Story writing – “protecting the island” I wrote and illustrated a story about three girls who saved their island from invaders. What I liked: Getting to draw and coming up with events. And, making up funny things. What I learned: I learned to include funny details in stories. I learned to write a story map. I wrote the characters, problems and solutions before I started writing.

Trip to Burlington I got to talk with someone from NASA. I learned that they freeze-dry corn and other food. I thought I could try and make cookies and freeze dry them. I got to eat pizza and drink soda. I saw someone I know, who is from my town. Her name is Audrey. I worked in a group and we make a weird hut that took a very short time to make.

I Studied about dogs I made a brochure about Golden Retrievers. I watched a video about service dogs I watched a video about different dog breeds I watched a video about French Bulldogs
