Nutritional and exercise program 0-6 months

Aerobic exercise 1. Rocking on a ball 2. Kicking a ball Get an excercise ball, deflate it slightly, place the baby tummy down. While supporting him, roll back and forth and side to side. This will strengthen the neck and develop muscles. 2. Kicking a ball Use an excercise ball and let the baby kick and roll it with his/her feet. This will let them learn about their legs and feet, and how to move them.

Aerobic exercise 3. Leg support crawl 4. Infant massage From the 2 months, you can put your palms to hover the feet and let them crawl. This stimuli will help neurons interconnect 4. Infant massage Perform massages on your baby, if it looks uncomfortable you should do it slowlier, calmly. This will help the baby's IQ, digestion, weight gain, and imune system.

Anaerobic exercise Finger towing Place the little one on his back on the bed and put forward your two index fingers. When he grasps them effectively, tenderly pick up your hands. The more you participate in this maneuver, the more he will try to hold tightly. Elevate the baby and drop him gently to prevent him from injury.

Anaerobic exercise Elevating the head Position your baby in a vertical position next to your shoulder. In this pose, the baby is able to elevate his head, for a small period of time. Do ensure to provide superb hold up to the baby along his back so as to hamper his backward thrust.

Anaerobic exercise Tummy time To perform these exercises, position your baby face down on a comparatively firm surface such as a foam floor mat. The baby will not do a lot during the first one to two months, but when he grows up a bit more, he will attempt to turn his head and will also shove himself up on forearms to look around.

Anaerobic exercise The bicycle exercise Let your baby lie on his back and grasp his feet or inferior part of the legs. Smoothly thrust one of his legs in the direction of his chest while stretching the other one. Thrust and lengthen each leg thrice; halt and do again. Once you conclude, let your baby lash out liberally.

Special Nutritional Requirements Important nutrients for infants include carbohydrates, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals. Infant formulas and breast milk generally contain sufficient amounts of required nutrients for infants, with the exception of vitamin D and iron, which are low in breast milk.

Food that shoud be avoided Honey: could cause infant botulism due to the immaturity of a baby’s intestinal tract. Citrus is very acidic and many infants under the age of 12 months old suffer rashes and tummy upsets due to the acidity.

Food that shoud be avoided Strawberries and shellfish, and even peanuts, can prompt severe, life threatening allergic reactions.   Broccoli is known to cause gas in many people. Beans either, as these too may cause painful gas.

Daily Calorie Intake The ADA recommends babies to be exclusively breastfed or consume infant formula the first 6 months of life They total intake is around 50 calories per day

Hours of sleep Babies from 0 to 6 months should sleep from 14 1/4 hrs (at 3 to 6 months) to 16 hrs (at 0 to 1 months) They sleep two-thirds of the day! (although not in-a-row, sadly)
