His teacher did not let him go to school because all he did was sit around, day dream, and ask a lot of questions. Thomas Edison, Beginning a new life December, 1871, Thomas Edison married a young woman. Her name was Mary Stillwell. She gave birth to Marion, Thomas Jr., and William Edison. August, 1884, Mary Stillwell died because of a bad sickness. A year later, he met, another young woman. Her name was Mina Miller.
